Ryan Stancill, a seasoned architect, commissioned Russ to design a full leg sleeve tattoo in celebration of his 50th birthday.
This project marked Abbott’s first time incorporating Kumiko patterns—intricate wooden designs that originate in Japan. The design posed a particular challenge, requiring the flowing scrollwork to interact seamlessly with the colorful focal points of the Kumiko, making each view of the leg both unique and captivating.
