To our friends and clients in Forsyth County, we wish we could bring you an @inkanddaggertattoo location. But when we tried to engage in a conversation with the BOC, they voted to further restrict tattoo “parlors” to their “no nasties” list. To some, Tattoo studios are the plague along with the pool halls, payday lenders, pawn shops, and worst of all… self service laundry facilities. 🤮🤢It’s true… the BOC have a list of undesirable businesses that they openly refer to as the “no nasties” list. I don’t know what else to do but just raise awareness and share the message. I envision a future where tattooing and being tattooed is considered as equal to all other professional services… able to have a fair shake at business… yes Todd, right next to the Publix if that makes sense for us (it wouldn’t). 🦅🇺🇸❤️Looking forward to what Forsyth County Georgia will grow into someday and hoping for the best… #forsythcountyga #inkanddaggertattoo

Here's a closer look at the floral scrollwork leg piece I made with @emiller003. This is one of my favorite color palettes to use for my scroll work. It's all done with @eternalink colors with lots of blending and dipping between the inks.

💛Pop Quiz: Who knows how to get the shadow colors of yellow objects? Do you add black to yellow? Do you mix in brown? What about yellow's compliment, violet?

Answer: All have their place and produce different results. If I'm trying to mix this color, I might mix yellow with a more blue-violet and see how that looks. It's one step off the true compliment of yellow (violet) on the color wheel. This might create a more pleasing color than a yellow + violet mixture. For this tattoo's dark shadow side of yellow, Eternal Ink offers a range of "Sepias" in Medium, Dark, and Shade.

@velordicus met me at @inkanddaggertattoo this week to document his throat and collarbone project from 2019. At the time these photos were taken, the tattoo had been in his skin for over a year. It was really nice to catch up with him and hear a bit about how this piece brings him daily joy. Time spent tattooing is much less frequent for me these days as I've been continuing to push myself towards new goals with personally and professionally with @tattoosmart . I feel a sense that my tattooing career is sort of wrapping up. As the number of tattoos that I will likely complete begins to creep towards an ultimate end, this piece will always be one of my proudest accomplishments. I love how it fits his anatomy and distorts elegantly as he articulates his head. I tried to show a bit of that in this series of photos. #inkanddaggertattoo

Russ Abbott is a Georgia native and has been tattooing since 1998. Russ specializes in Illustrative, Ornamental, and 3D Geometric tattoo styles.

Currently, Russ is only able to accept projects with existing clients. He prefers to focus on large-scale projects that fit within his chosen specialties of Illustrative and Ornamental style tattooing.
